A disabled man who begged quietly on the streets of Indore turned out to be the owner of assets worth crores. The revelation has left both citizens and authorities stunned.

It is often said that judging people by what we see can be misleading. Authorities in Indore, Madhya Pradesh, recently experienced this reality in a shocking way. A man known as Mangilal, who appeared to be a physically disabled beggar, was found to be the owner of properties and wealth worth crores of rupees.

For years, Mangilal sat quietly near the Sarafa Bazaar area. He never raised his voice or forcefully asked for money. Sitting on a wheeled iron platform, he moved slowly and looked helpless. Moved by sympathy, many people donated generously. Some gave him between 500 and 1,000 rupees every day.

What looked like kindness slowly turned into a source of massive income. Using the money he collected, Mangilal built a three storey house, bought several flats, owned a Swift Dzire car with a driver, an auto rickshaw, and even ran a money lending business. Shockingly, he also availed benefits under a government housing scheme.

His reality came out during an anti begging drive by the administration. Officials are now investigating the source of his wealth and whether any laws were violated.

The case has sparked a serious debate. Was he a helpless beggar or a clever crorepati in disguise?
