Late Night Bomb Blast in Kulpi Triggers Political Blame Game, Police Begin Investigation
A powerful explosion late at night has shaken the quiet area of Kulpi in South 24 Parganas district of West Bengal. The blast took place in the Chamnabuni area and targeted a car belonging to a local Trinamool Congress leader. The incident created fear among residents and has led to a political controversy between two rival parties.
According to local sources, the explosion happened deep into the night. Residents were asleep when a loud sound suddenly echoed across the neighbourhood. The force of the blast was so strong that people rushed out of their homes in fear, unsure of what had happened. Many initially thought it was an accident, but the scene they witnessed told a different story.
The car, which was parked inside a garage, was badly damaged. Its metal body was twisted and crushed due to the impact. The asbestos roof of the garage was blown away and debris was scattered around the area. Fortunately, no one was inside or near the vehicle at the time of the explosion, and no injuries were reported.
The owner of the damaged car has been identified as Kutubuddin Paik, who is a booth president of the Trinamool Congress in the area. He claimed that the blast was not accidental and alleged that it was a planned attack. According to him, members of the Indian Secular Front were behind the explosion.
Kutubuddin Paik further stated that this was not the first time he had been targeted. He alleged that his house had been attacked earlier as well. Expressing fear for his safety and that of his family, he demanded immediate police action. He urged the authorities to identify and arrest those responsible as soon as possible.
Soon after the incident was reported, police from Kulpi police station reached the spot. They cordoned off the area to prevent crowds from gathering and began their investigation. Forensic teams collected samples from the blast site to determine what kind of explosive material was used. Police officials said that every angle is being examined carefully.
However, the allegations did not go unchallenged. The ISF strongly denied any involvement in the incident. Party leaders accused the Trinamool Congress leader of storing bombs at his own house ahead of the elections. According to them, the explosion happened due to those stored explosives and was not an attack by anyone else.
The ISF leaders also claimed that the Trinamool Congress was trying to shift blame to gain political sympathy. They stated that such incidents highlight the unsafe political environment in the area and demanded a fair and transparent investigation.
The incident has brought political tension in Kulpi to the forefront. Supporters of both parties have exchanged accusations, making the atmosphere tense. Locals have expressed concern about safety in the area, especially at night. Many residents said that political violence has become a regular issue and common people are the ones who suffer the most.
Political analysts believe that with elections approaching, such incidents may increase as rival parties try to establish dominance. However, they also stressed that violence and explosives have no place in a democratic process.
Police officials have assured the public that strict action will be taken once the investigation is complete. They said the exact cause of the explosion will be clear after forensic reports are received. CCTV footage from nearby areas is also being checked to identify any suspicious movement.
