Real Estate Tycoon CJ Roy Found Dead in Bengaluru Office, Police Suspect Suicide After Income Tax Raids
A tragic incident has shocked the business community after CJ Roy, a well-known real estate tycoon, was found dead inside his office in Bengaluru on Friday. Police officials have said that the initial investigation suggests suicide.

According to the Bengaluru City Police, the incident occurred within the limits of Bengaluru’s Ashok Nagar police station area. Police Commissioner Seemanth Kumar Singh confirmed that CJ Roy died due to a gunshot injury that appeared to be self-inflicted.
Speaking to the media, the police commissioner said that Roy was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital after the incident. However, doctors declared him dead on arrival. He added that teams from the Scene of Crime Office and the Forensic Science Laboratory were present at the spot and are examining all evidence carefully.
Police officials also revealed that Income Tax officials had been conducting searches at Roy’s premises for the past two to three days. A team from Kerala had also arrived in connection with the probe. Authorities said such searches had taken place earlier as well, but full details of the raids are still being collected.
At present, the police are in touch with Roy’s family members. Sources said that his immediate family is currently outside India and is expected to return by flight later today. Police have assured that statements from the family will be recorded once they arrive.
“As of now, everything points towards suicide, but we are investigating all angles,” a senior police officer said. Officials clarified that no final conclusion will be drawn until the forensic and post-mortem reports are completed.
