West Bengal Assembly Election: Voters of bihar Listed in Bengal! Trinamool Targets Election Commission and BJP

Bogus Voter Storm: Bengal’s Election Under Fire

Imagine heading to the polling booth, ready to cast your precious vote, only to wonder if your voice truly counts. If the very foundation of our democracy — the voter list — is rigged. That’s the unsettling question hanging over Bengal right now, as serious allegations surface about electoral foul play.

Trinamool Congress (TMC) isn’t just asking questions; they’re making bold accusations. They claim the BJP is actively trying to infiltrate Bengal’s voter rolls with names from other states. We’re talking Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, and Odisha. TMC leaders, including MP Derek O’Brien and Minister Bratya Basu, didn’t mince words, calling out what they see as a blatant conspiracy to grab power. At a recent press conference in Kolkata, they even showed specific proof: details of four voters listed in Bihar who also mysteriously appeared on Bengal’s electoral list. It’s a shocking claim, suggesting a calculated effort to dilute legitimate votes and sway results.

Are Our Votes Truly Safe?

This isn’t a new fight for TMC. Party chief Mamata Banerjee hinted at similar electoral ‘tricks’ back in 2025, and now they insist the BJP hasn’t stopped trying. Abhishek Banerjee, a prominent TMC voice, has previously accused the Election Commission (EC) of allowing ‘lakhs of fake voters’ into lists during elections in Maharashtra and Delhi. The message from TMC is clear: they believe the same playbook is being used in Bengal. They’re not just pointing fingers at the BJP; they’re also putting the EC on blast. Minister Bratya Basu noted it’s ‘our job’ to catch these discrepancies, not the Commission’s. It begs the question: how can citizens trust the electoral process if basic voter integrity is constantly under dispute?

Who, What, Why: Trinamool Congress accuses BJP of illegally adding out-of-state voters to Bengal’s electoral list, presenting proof of individuals listed in Bihar also appearing in Bengal. TMC alleges this is a deliberate strategy by BJP to manipulate elections and seize control of the state. They’re pressing the Election Commission to act swiftly against these alleged fraudulent registrations.

TMC isn’t backing down. Thousands of their workers are reportedly combing through voter lists, booth by booth, determined to catch every single bogus entry. Bratya Basu warned the Election Commission directly: ‘This isn’t Bihar, Maharashtra, or Haryana.’ He vowed to expose any fraudulent voters to national and international media, declaring the world will know if democracy is being undermined. Mamata Banerjee and Abhishek Banerjee are holding rallies across the state, not just campaigning for candidates but also fiercely fighting this alleged conspiracy. Their message is simple: they’re wide awake. They won’t let Bengal be taken by what they call ‘con artists’.
