The Lok Sabha will start its meetings again on Tuesday. This is happening after a bad day on Monday. On Monday people were. Protesting very loudly. The meeting had to be stopped times because of this. The people, from the ruling party and the opposition were saying some harsh things to each other. The Lok Sabha is going to try to have a day on Tuesday.
The problem started when Rahul Gandhi, the Leader of Opposition read out something from a book that former Indian Army Chief General MM Naravane wrote. This book was not available to the public yet. He said this while talking in the House. The things he said made the BJP leaders very upset. They said you cannot talk about something from a book that people have not seen before in Parliament. Rahul Gandhi and the BJP leaders had a disagreement, about this. The Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi was talking about what General MM Naravane wrote in his book.
The House was really messy so they stopped the meeting until 3 pm at first then they stopped it again until 4 pm. Finally they just stopped it for the whole day. Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Defence Minister Rajnath Singh were some of the people who did not like what Rahul Gandhi said. They said that during meetings, in the House people can only talk about things that have been officially published.
The problem came up when Rahul Gandhi was talking about the motion of thanks, to the Presidents address. He wanted to answer something that BJP MP Tejasvi Surya said. Tejasvi Surya said that the Congress party does not love our country. So Rahul Gandhi started to say some things that General Naravane wrote in his book about what happened between India and China in 2020.
When he began to read from the book the BJP members got really upset. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh wanted to know if the book was actually out in the market. Home Minister Amit Shah also had a problem, with this he said that using something from a book that is not even published yet goes against the rules of the parliament the BJP members protested strongly against the book.
Speaker Om Birla said to the members times that they cannot quote from books or newspapers that are not related to the official work of the House.. Rahul Gandhi kept saying that the document he was talking about was real and had already been written about in an article. Speaker Om Birla and Rahul Gandhi did not agree on this. The document that Rahul Gandhi was talking about was very important, to him. Speaker Om Birla made it clear that only official House business is allowed to be discussed.
The arguments went on for fifty minutes. The BJP leader, Kiren Rijiju said he agreed with the Speakers decision. Kiren Rijiju also warned that if the Leader of Opposition kept ignoring the Chair the House would have to think about what to do with the Leader of Opposition and the BJP leader Kiren Rijiju was very clear, about this. The BJP leader Kiren Rijiju supported the Speakers ruling and Kiren Rijiju wanted the Leader of Opposition to listen to the Speaker.
The BJP said Rahul Gandhi gave information to Parliament and this was bad for the Indian soldiers. Some leaders of the BJP stated that what he said made the Parliament look bad and sounded like what Indias enemies would say. The BJP leaders think Rahul Gandhis words were not good for the soldiers and they do not like what he did to the Parliament. The BJP is upset, with Rahul Gandhi.
When the Lok Sabha met again at 4 pm Rahul Gandhi said he wanted to talk about something that affects the security of our country. He said he was being stopped from speaking because what he had to say was not comfortable for Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Defence Minister Rajnath Singh to hear, especially when it came to the things he wrote in his memoir. Rahul Gandhi felt that the Lok Sabha should know about these things and that is why he was raising the issue of security again.
Gandhi said that the government was afraid of the truth coming out. He said the book talked badly about how the government dealt with the conflict with China in 2020. Gandhi also asked why he was not allowed to talk about something important as the conflict with China. The conflict with China is a deal and Gandhi wanted to know why he could not speak about the conflict, with China.
The person said that he got the information from an article about the memoir not from the unpublished book. He thinks that stopping the conversation shows the government is not comfortable with the facts, about the memoir. The government does not want to talk about the memoir and its facts.
Mallikarjun Kharge, a leader of the Congress is supporting Rahul Gandhi. He wants to know why the book, by the Army Chief has not been published yet. On the social media platform X Mallikarjun Kharge asked what the former Army Chief wrote in his book that is making the senior leaders of the BJP so nervous. Mallikarjun Kharge also said that the BJP is not really patriotic they just pretend to be, which is nationalism and that is what the BJP is doing.
With the India US trade deal now finalised, attention will be on how smoothly Parliament functions when the Lok Sabha resumes and whether the ongoing political tension will continue to affect proceedings.
