Suvendu-Adhikarys-PA-Shot-dead
A wave of tension has gripped Madhyamgram following a brazen daylight shootout that resulted in the death of Chandranath Rath, the personal assistant to senior political leader Suvendu Adhikari.
The incident occurred while Mr. Rath was returning from the State Assembly. According to eyewitness accounts and preliminary police reports, unidentified miscreants intercepted the vehicle and opened fire from point-blank range. Mr. Rath succumbed to his injuries almost instantly, while the driver of the vehicle sustained critical gunshot wounds and is currently undergoing emergency treatment at a nearby hospital.
The West Bengal Police have cordoned off the area and initiated a high-level probe. Investigative officers have suggested that the clinical execution of the attack points toward a well-orchestrated conspiracy rather than a random act of violence. Forensic teams are currently scouring the site for evidence, and local CCTV footage is being scrutinized to identify the assailants and the escape route used.
